Sustainability
We take pride in the numerous ways our company contributes positively to the world, and we prioritize health and education in all our endeavors.
Environmental, Social and Governance
In 2021, Cytel conducted an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) materiality exercise, helping us identify and prioritize the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) most aligned with our purpose, impacts, and stakeholder interests.
We laid the foundation for a formalized ESG strategy in our 2022 Sustainability Report, introducing key initiatives and setting actionable goals across areas like diversity, emissions reduction, and supply chain sustainability. Over the past years, we have built on these objectives, making significant progress in embedding sustainability into our business practices.
Our 2023 Sustainability Report reflects this evolution. We have strengthened our commitment by achieving key milestones such as improving emissions tracking, reducing office space to lower our environmental footprint, and expanding our efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion. With ambitious goals like aligning our emissions reductions with Science-Based Targets – approved and validated by SBTi – and enhancing supply chain sustainability, this report highlights our progress and reiterates our commitment to creating a lasting, positive impact.

Fly High
Our award-winning program supports families to escape the poverty trap through educational opportunities. Since 2017, our successful initiative has helped more than 2400 students throughout India.
Cye-Fit Challenge
We believe today’s children will face automatic disadvantages if they are not given the opportunity to learn coding at a young age. Our educational challenge encourages members of the Cytel team to volunteer in local schools promoting engaging activities that bring computer science and technological education to a wider cross-section of students.
Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger
For nearly two decades, the Cytel team has participated in Boston’s annual Walk for Hunger. It’s estimated that up to 60,000 Mass Bay children go without food on a regular basis. Supporting a cause to bridge that gap and give them access to this basic human right will also help them concentrate and flourish in school.
School supplies
Just as children require enough sustenance to be able to concentrate in class, providing essential school supplies can have an equally positive effect on their education. For nearly a decade, Cytel has partnered with local boys’ and girls’ clubs in Massachusetts, US, to provide low-income school children with backpacks and school supplies.
Drum Circle
The emotional stresses of financial, environmental, and health-related hardships have led to behavioral issues for many children in the Budhwar-peth Area of Pune. Cytel partnered with the Swadhar Institute to organize 12 drum circles for children at MOHOR, helping them channel their emotions into a creative group exercise, cultivating greater concentration and teamwork.
Project Hygiene Harmony
Cytel sponsored the construction of sanitation facilities for a girls’ school in the vicinity of Pune, India.
