Our Story – The Beginning
A meeting of minds.
When Cyrus Mehta and Nitin Patel, research scientists at Harvard University and MIT, met in 1987, they formed a unique collaboration between a statistician and an operations researcher. Together, they developed an algorithm to simplify complex calculations backed up by software to make their findings accessible.
When they went on to apply the same analytical process to enable adaptive oncology trials at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, they realized that they shared a clear purpose: to redefine the landscape of clinical research and simplify and accelerate the drug lifecycle. And so Cytel was born.
Today, Cytel is still a meeting of minds. We bring together some of the world’s leading experts in clinical development, statistical design, trial deployment, real world solutions, regulatory strategies, and commercialization. More than a company, we are a pioneering scientific community fueled by passion and curiosity.
